New Zoning Draft Released
“The Town of Philipstown is hereby divided into the following land use and overlay districts . . . ” (language from the proposed zoning law)
Philipstown’s latest zoning code redraft imposes some new restrictions on businesses and property development while easing others, exempting properties less than 30 acres in size from “open space overlay” inclusion. At 108 pages, the new draft is the same length as its August 2009 predecessor and is no less complex than the earlier version. Full Story

Lois Hustis
Lois Hustis, age 75, of Cold Spring, died on Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at Hudson Valley Hospital Center in Cortlandt Manor, NY.
Born November 2, 1934, in Cavendish, VT, she was the daughter of the late Ceylon and Mabel (Morgan) Moulton.
Mrs. Hustis was a teacher in Haldane Central School from 1959 to 1965. Full Story

Florence Eleanor Nugent Kultzow, age 94, of Winston- Salem, NC, former resident of Putnam County, passed away on March 10, 2010, at her home. A Mass service was held at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in Lexington, NC, where she was a member, with Father Al Gondek officiating. Full Story
