Justice Stephen Tomann Running Unoppposed

"My campaign for Town Justice is now officially underway.

"Over the last three and one half years as Judge I have handled several difficult matters both of criminal and civil nature. I have done many arraignments at all hours of the day and night as well as innumerable civil trials and criminal trials. I have, in all cases, endeavored to be fair and firm in my application of the law as written. Though not every accused has been happy with the result, nor every civil litigant happy with the result, I can say without a single doubt that I was guided by the law and not my personal likes or dislikes. There is no other way to assure our rights.

"There is no person running against me this November. I must say I am relieved that I will not need to downplay any concentration on my personal shortcomings.

"People need to see and feel respect. If they cannot find it in Court or see it in Government, the systems will fail. Too many people work to live their lives within the narrow margins of what is good for their families and neighbors to excuse or rationalize intentional, foolish and often dangerous criminal behavior of those who respect little or nothing.

"My personal life is known to many of you. My wife and daughter at home and my family in general consume my time not already consumed by work. My immediate family lives in Nelsonville, in the Farrell’s old house, and my family home is in Garrison. Please vote for me. I urge you to vote your conscience on November 2nd."
