If The Riverbankers Project Goes Through
Editor,
Last Monday night, anyone coming up to Cold Spring’s village hall would have seen a Huge brightly flashing Neon Sign that said "Developers welcome."
Watching the Riverbankers working meeting you would have seen fireworks going off overhead saying, high impact building welcome, high density building welcome, come one, come all to ruin what is left of our fragile sewage system, lawsuits welcome; and welcome ruination of our municipality credit standing at the end of all this.
Nowhere during this meeting, was there a mention of safety for life and property. Either the life of people intended for these sixteen units or the lives of those who live in close proximity of this high-density development.
There seems to be an absence of involvement of old timers who built this unique and wonderful village to address controlled growth versus uncontrolled sprawl. There is also a lack of interest and letters from all the newcomers who have come here for the uniqueness of Cold Spring about controlled growth versus uncontrolled development. The Riverbankers project is on the way here, all sixteen units, squeezed onto sensitive land fill and precariously built to suit developers, not sensible people. If this project goes through, all the developers with a "la carte" menu project, will know that Cold Spring is in Open Hunting Mode.
