Haldane Students At Area All-State Music Festival
The New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) Zone 10 Area AllState Music Festival was held this past weekend at John Jay High School in Hopewell Junction. The finest high school musicians and vocalists from Columbia, Dutchess and Putnam Counties were selected to participate in this yearly event. Representing Haldane School District were Danielle Cooper, Maria D’Amato and Jenai Downer in the Women’s Chorus and Jennifer Neville who played in the Orchestra.
The students rehearsed Friday afternoon and Saturday morning in preparation for a final concert on Saturday afternoon. They were given an opportunity not only to play in excellent performing organizations, but also the honor of working with outstanding guest conductors. The experience is a rewarding and inspiring one for students and teachers alike.
Performers are selected on the basis of NYSSMA Solo Adjudications, previous festival experience, local school participation and teacher recommendation. All of those from Haldane have been actively involved in the Haldane Music Department since their elementary school years, participating in the numerous musical and drama activities in the community.
