Vassar Brothers Hosts Lymphedema Support Group
Vassar Brothers Hospital will host a support program for people coping with Lymphedema on Tuesday, September 11 from 7:00 to 8:30pm in Conference Room B.
Jennifer Hay, a Physical Therapist with Vassar Brothers Hospital, will discuss exercise for Lymphedema.
Lymphedema is a swelling in your hand, arm, leg or foot that can occur as a result of surgery, radiation therapy or lymph node removal. The condition can develop right after surgery or sometimes weeks, months or even years later. Symptoms include fullness or heaviness in arms or legs, tight skin, difficulty moving your hand, wrist or ankle and difficulty fitting into sleeves, pant legs, rings, bracelets and watches. The meetings are held the second Tuesday of every month. For more information on the program or to register, please call Linda at 845-437-3038.
