Talk of our Town

That’s it! Done, over with, kaput, fini!!! The Summer season is over and we can all get on to fall fun (maybe a little Indian Summer - but just on the weekends). If you want to find out what the weather will be when planning, use your "Jim Witt" Weather forcasting calendar. What? Don’t have one? Don’t get caught short for next year - his calendar for 2002 is out and he’s predicting a "good" winter. You can pick one up at the PCN&R offices - and elsewhere - they’re beautiful and the proceeds are donated to charity.

The Depot Theatre’s One-Act Play Festival opens this weekend with productions from local writers. It runs for two weeks, but tickets go fast, don’t miss it!

Our birthday list is pretty small this week, but that doesn’t mean that they’re any less important. Theresa Vallone, Stephen Smith, Ellen Kalhaus, Jennifer Dahlia and Bruce Campbell all celebrate this week. A first-time birthday will be had on Sept. 8 when Nicholas DiPalo turns one.

Last week there were a few birthdays that we were notified about - Gertrude Dahlia turned 90 on Aug 26th - George Gallinger celebrated on Aug. 31 and belated best wishes to Shanna Deegan.
