The Mid-East Is Becoming A Stage For International Struggle
To the Editor,

I am one of Martin Brech’s Jewish friends. It was regrettable he made reference to Israeli Nazis and Geroge Baum mentioned Martin’s "dark side". They work together resolving Putnam’s environmental problems, and Martin co-chairs the Putnam Greens. With us they share frustration over escalating violence.

Israeli’s are victimized by U.S. regional military influence while Palestinian grief is exploited by China, Iran, Iraq, Russia. Gush Shalom is leading Israeli Peace Bloc. Their statement this week reads, "International force at Belt/Gilo is prelude to deployment through occupies territories to enforce cease-fire and halt settlement provocations while recognizing Israeli settlements at expense of Palestinan land is root-cause of present uprising. The sooner international intervention takes place the lower the price in life and suffering exacted from Israelis and Palestinans."

The Mid-East is becoming stage for international struggle, pawn and flash-point for renewed major power conflict.
