Desmond-Fish Begins Programs For Toddlers And Caregivers
Parent/ Child Workshop, a program for toddlers and their care givers at the Desmond-Fish Library began its fall session on Sept 24th and will continue until Nov. 7. The program is a play group for children from six months to two years old held on Mondays from 10:15 to 11:45 and for children from two to fours years old on Wednesdays from 10:15 to 11:45. Children and their parents or care givers participate in a free play period followed by cleanup, songs and a story read by Children’s Librarian Polly Townsend. The program is held downstairs in the program room where toys and climbing structures are set up.
The preschool story hour for children also began this week. It is held on Wednesdays at 1:30. The story hour combines stories with crafts. The preschool story hour continues until November 14.
An after school story hour for kindergarten and first graders begins on Oct. 4 from 3:30 to 4:15 and continues until Nov. 15. Parents who would like to sign up for the programs may do so by calling the library at 424-3020.
A special event for all school age children will be a Harry Potter Craft and Costume party on Nov. 9 from 3:30 to 5pm at the library. Children are invited to wear a Harry Potter costume but may also come in school clothes. There will be Harry Potter crafts to make and refreshments to enjoy.
