Beacon Holds Annual Marine Corps Birthday Ball
Come celebrate at the annual Marine Corps Birthday Ball Dinner Dance to be held at the Saint Rocco’s Society Hall in Beacon on Saturday November 10, from 7-l1pm. Members, friends, and the public are cordially invited to join the Carmen Ramputi Detachment #861 Marine Corps League of Dutchess County, as we share an evening of dining and dancing to the music of the well known dou, Sophisticates, featuring Tom and Joanne Fitzgerald.
Established by the Continental Congress in 1775, the Marine Corps have long upheld our country’s ideals on land ,sea, and air. "First to fight" and continuing to serve our fellow citizens, the Marine Corps league raises funds through penny socials, clambakes, and other events. Serving the veterans in this area, including our annual picnic at Castle Point Veterans Hospital; and providing those in need with items such as coats is high on our list of priorities. Many local charities also benefit from these fundraisers. Last year through the hard work of our membership, we dedicated the Carmen Ramputi Detachment monument in front of Beacon’s Memorial Building, which honors many of our fallen heroes and loved ones. The annual Marine Corps Birthday Ball is another of our time honored traditions.
Guests will be given a complete dinner with a choice of either a prime rib or half roasted chicken entree and vegetarian plates will also be available . All meals include dessert, coffee and tea, beer, wine, or soda,
Also taking place daring this special evening will be the appearance of the Marine Corps Color Canard frown Stewart Airfield and the ceremonial cutting of the cake. The festivities are open to the public so everyone can share in this celebration to honor the birthday of the U.S. Marines and show support for our country and its servicemen and women.
Tickets are $45.00 couple and $25.00 single. Please call 845-831-6422 for reservations and farther information, no later than November 3.
A Penny Social of the Carmen Remputi Detachment #861 of the Marine Corps League will be on Oct. 20 at the Memorial Bldg. The doors open at 1pm and the calling starts at 3pm. Food and drinks will also be available.
