Haldane PTA Fair This Saturday
The Haldane PTA will to hold a Fall Fair on Sat. Sept. 29th from 11:00 – 4:00. This PTA Fair is for the children, join with the PTA along with members of the community for a day filled with activities that will lift spirits. The Fair will be located at the 9D ballfield. If it rains, the event will be held inside the school in the big gym.
This year the PTA welcomes back the 4-H Petting Zoo and Pony Rides. The youngest and oldest of children will love to see and pet the animals. The kids will get some exercise in the Air Kastle and the Giant Slide. There are many craft activities to enjoy like Pumpkin Painting, Balloon Art and Weaving. If you like body art visit the Face Painting, Nail Art, Hair Braiding and Hair Wrap tables. Some of the great games available are Speedball, Golf, Cookie on a String, Haystack Treasure Search, Airplane Toss, Football Throw, Pie Eating Contest and Penny Toss. There are many new prizes to win at the Prize Booth and don’t forget to buy some Raffles for a chance to win the Grand Prize of 2 Yankee & 4 Met baseball game tickets including over a dozen other Raffle prizes available. The parents and volunteers have worked hard on these activities to bring enjoyment for the entire family.
The Food Court will offer a variety of dishes and beverages for your family to enjoy. Feast on hotdogs, burgers, meatballs, ziti, lasagna and sausage. Families will cook and prepare several salads for your enjoyment. Save room for dessert as there will be a selection of baked goods as well as ice cream and cotton candy. So come by and have lunch with your friends and neighbors at the Fair.
The children and community will have the opportunity to meet local fire fighters from the Cold Spring Fire Dept. Take a close up look of the fire trucks as well as having photos taken. The Putnam County Sheriff’s Dept. will be available to finger print children. This activity has always been very valuable to parents and families.
The PTA is encouraging children and their families to write note cards with expressions of Thanks to the emergency workers and Encouragement to the victim’s families and homeless families of the WTC disaster. You may drop them off at the Fair or stop by and write one up. There will be note cards and stationary available for this purpose.
Offer your support for this event and volunteer your time not just for the PTA but for the children. Much help is needed decorating, setting up or running a booth. Your help and suggestions are always welcome. For more information call the school @ 265-9254 ext. 113.
