Haldane Soccer Rolls On With Victory And Tie

This past week was exciting for the Haldane Boys Varsity Soccer. On Sept 17th they dominated the game against Alexander Hamilton with a 5-1 victory. On Sept. 21st, they played an edge-of-your-seat game that ended in a 2-2 tie with Tuckahoe High School.
Percy Oblitas scored a hat trick against Alexander Hamilton. The other goals were scored by Marlow Cortez and Blaze Nowara, The other team scored accidentally due to a deflection off a Haldane player. Otherwise the Haldane team had a solid defense with incredible saves by goalie Hudson Brower.
The Haldane team arrived late to the second game and so had little time to warm up. Nevertheless they scored early and were winning for a good part of the game until the score was tied in the last half. Unfortunately, the refs wouldn’t allow overtime because of "approaching darkness." Percy scored a goal assisted by Blaze who also scored the other goal.
The team is looking forward to more victories in the future.
