ObituariesNovember 14, 2001

Rita Catalinotto

Mrs. Rita Anna Catalinotto, 86, long-time Cold Spring resident, now of Frederick, MD, died Sunday morning, November 11, 2001 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Salvatore Catalinotto for 62 years.

Born in New York City, September 19, 1915, Mrs. Catalinotto married in 1934. She and her husband moved to Jamaica, Queens in 1942. The family moved to Cold Spring in 1960 - where she resided at Horton Road Philipstown for over 25 years - and retired to Fedhaven, FL in 1985. She moved back North to be close to her daughter in Frederick, MD in 1999.

Mrs. Catalinotto loved music and people and was kind and giving to all. She played the piano, violin, and guitar and played in the Fedhaven Ensemble Orchestra for many years. She had a lively wit combined with a warm and generous heart and was truly loved by all she came in contact with. In her later years she found much fellowship and comfort with the kind people in the Jehovah’s Witnesses Church in Fedhaven and Frederick.

Per Mrs Catalinotto’s wishes, in lieu of a funeral, there will be a family celebration of her life next Spring at the Fishkill Rural Cemetery.

Mrs. Catalinotto was the daughter of Otto and Emma Dusek. She is survived by her loving brother Frank Dusek and wife Florita of Northport, LI, NY, and by three loving children and their spouses, John and Ellen Catalinotto, of New York, NY; Bernard and Roberta Catalinotto, of Bethesda, MD, and Ann and John Commito, of Frederick, MD., by six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Alberta Sumeracki, and nephew Phil and wife Pat Pellitteri, who were longtime residents of Cold Spring, and many other loving family members and friends.
