Metal Detecting Club Visits Garrison School
The Garrison School was treated to two visits from the Putnam-Westchester Metal Detector Association this fall. Several members of the club explained the purpose of the metal detecting club and showed interesting discoveries such as coins, cannon balls and jewelry. The visitors included Ted Izzo, Frank Starnella, Jim See, Dave Nolan Sr., Dave Nolan Jr., Joe Cuccinello, Conrad Rasinski and Mike Hartnett. Dave Nolan Sr. and Dave Nolan Jr. donated a showcase of historical relics found through metal detecting to our middle school. It will be housed in the school’s new addition. This interesting series of assemblies led to the creation of a middle school elective class set to begin in January.
