Women’s Health Fair at Putnam Hospital Center To Offer Free Screenings, Demonstrations, Information

Women: It’s time to put yourselves first. Come to Putnam Hospital Center on Thursday, May 16th, from 5 to 7pm, for a free health fair geared entirely to women. It will be held in the ground floor cafe classrooms at the hospital at 670 Stoneleigh Avenue in Carmel.

Sponsored by Putnam Hospital Center, the Putnam County Health Department and the Putnam County Healthy Living Partnership, there will be free screenings for cholesterol, blood pressure, body fat composition, diabetes, stress, colorectal cancer, spinal muscle analysis and glaucoma as well as information and literature on fitness techniques, nutrition, menopause, soft tissue techniques, poison prevention and more. State Senator Vincent Leibell will be on hand to greet attendees.

In addition, there will be no cost pelvic exams, pap smears, breast exams and mammograms by appointment for women over 50 who meet eligibility requirements. Interested individuals must call (845) 278-6558 for eligibility and appointments.

Following the women’s health fair, there will be a special free program on "Balancing the Stresses in Your Life," presented by healthcare professional Chun Kim-Levin, RN, MPA, HNC, CYT, at 7:30pm, in the hospital’s third floor conference room.
