Senior Forum On "Aging At Home" At Hudson Valley Hospital

A Senior Forum "Aging At Home" will take place on Friday, May 17th at the Hudson Valley Hospital Center, Route 202, Cortlandt Manor.

The program will include discussions on support services available for those who want to remain at home as they grow older, a demonstration of useful products to help people be self-sufficient in their homes, and diabetes detection and treatment.

State Assemblywoman Sandy Galef invites the public to attend, stating: "We are living longer thanks to nutrition, and scientific and medical advances. We need to do all that we can to stay self-sufficient and maintain a quality of life in our homes. There are many tools and services available to help. To learn what they are, please come to the public forum."

Speakers scheduled to appear are Laura Bolotsky, Westchester County Department of Senior Programs and Services, Evelyn Bobb, Dominican Sisters Family Health Service, Linda Daily, Family Information and Referral Service Teams (FIRST), Penny Kip, Joslin Diabetes Center, Hudson Valley Hospital, and Evie Shoenthal, Occupational Therapy, Hudson Valley Hospital Center.

Forum co-sponsors are AARP-Yorktown Chapter 3297, Cortlandt Seniors, Croton Seniors, NORCORT Seniors, Northern Westchester Geriatric Center, Ossining Senior Citizens, Ossining Outreach, Peekskill Senior Citizens Club, St. Peter’s Community Outreach Center - REGARD, Senior Citizens of Buchanan, Verplanck Seniors, Yorktown Seniors - Club 1.
