Bannerman Island Benefit Dinner Cruise August 4

The Bannerman Castle Trust, Inc. in association with Hudson River Adventures is sponsoring a benefit Bannerman Island Buffet Dinner Cruise on board The Pride Of The Hudson on August 4. The buffet dinner is being prepared by Loughran’s Restaurant of Salisbury Mills.

Nestled between Storm King mountain on the west shore and Breakneck Ridge Mountain on the East shore, lay the ruins of a majestic castle towering high above the north side of the island. Built by Frank Bannerman VI from 1901 to 1918, this Hudson River Landmark longs to tell you her secrets.

Your three hour excursion begins at Newburgh Landing at 5pm. While on board you will be treated to light music entertainment, along with a reading of "The Women of Bannerman’s Island", featuring June Kaufmann of cable TVand Hudson Valley actress Ethel Michelson.

Now ‘s your chance. to enjoy a great summer evening on the Hudson, while supporting the preservation efforts for Bannerman Castle on Pollepel Island. $45 Admission. A portion of your admission is tax deductible.

The Bannerman Castle Trust, Inc. is working with the New York State Office of Parks Recreation and Historic Preservation as a not-for-profit "Friends" organization dedicated to preserving the history and heritage of Bannerman Island. The Trust is currently raising funds to help stabilize the structures on the island.

The Bannerman Castle Trust, Inc. is also offering regular cruises on The Pride of the Hudson to Bannerman Island on July 28, August 10, and August 25. Hard Hat Fundraising Hard Hat Tours are also being offered. Reservations are advised. The island is part of the beautiful Hudson Highland State Park and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The island is closed to the public is for safety reasons.
