Intertribal Pow Wow Set for this Weekend
The Putnam Visitors Bureau is proud to present the 3rd Annual Daniel Nimham Intertribal Pow wow on Sat & Sun, Aug. 16 & 17, from 10 am to 5 pm, at the Veterans Memorial Park, Gipsy Trail Rd, off of Rte 301, in Kent.
The Grand Entrance will begin at Noon. Native Americans from near and far will gather together to present singers, dancers, storytellers and more. Also featured are native craft vendors and artisans from Six Nations, Canada, Arizona, Florida, Aztec dancers from Mexico, pony rides, arrowhead making and pipe demonstrations, tee pees, native foods and more. Artifacts from local historical societies will be on display.
This two-day family event is offered free to the public thanks to the sponsor, Putnam County Savings Bank. Parking is also free. For more information phone (845) 225-0381.
