Putnam CAP Urgently Needs School Supply Donations
Brewster - Putnam Community Action Program urgently requests individuals and organizations to donate school supplies to meet a local need. These materials will be provided to needy Putnam families for their school-age children. Many low-income families experience a great deal of difficulty during this time of year as they try to adequately prepare their children for the upcoming school year. The children need numerous school supplies as well as new sneakers, clothing, and haircuts, which creates a significant strain on the already limited family budget.
Typical items most needed include: gift certificates for clothing, sneakers, and haircuts, backpacks, lunch boxes, trapper keepers, binders, pencil cases, composition notebooks, calculators, markers, colored pencils, folders, glue sticks, scissors, 3 & 5 subject spiral notebooks, rulers, and loose-leaf paper.
The supplies will be distributed from the CAP Office at 121 Main Street, Brewster, during the week of August 25th from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm and on Wednesday, August 27th until 6:00 pm.
If you need additional information, please contact the CAP office at (845) 278-8021. Please deliver the donations to the CAP Office by Friday, August 22, so that the supplies can be sorted and prepared for distribution.
