Charity Raffles Mercedes to Raise Money for Children
For anyone who ever dreamed of owning a Mercedes for $100, that dream could become a reality. Green Chimneys Children’s Services is raffling off a new, 2004 Mercedes 240 sedan in August to raise money for its children’s programs.
"With state and federal cutbacks continuing, we’ve tried to find new ways to recoup some of the losses and after the success of last year’s raffle, we decided to continue the program," said Joseph Whalen, executive director of Green Chimneys.
The all-wheel drive sedan has automatic transmission, air conditioning, heated seats, a sunroof, a CD player and a leather interior. Interested drivers can learn more about the car specifications by visiting www.danbury.mercedescenter.com.
The retail value of the car is $35,000, but one lucky ticket holder will win it for the price of a ticket. Tickets cost $100, and only 1,000 are being sold. Second prize is $2,500 and third prize is $1,000.
To reserve your ticket, contact Deb Weintraub at 845-279-2995, ext. 103 or e-mail her at dweintraub@greenchimneys.org.
