CS Resident Protests Building of 11 Unit Condo at Waterfront
Dear Editor:

I wish to add my name to the growing list of Cold Spring residents who wish to vehemently protest the building of the 11-unit condo development on the riverfront.

While I am not opposed to renovation in Cold Spring (in fact, I welcome any work that will restore its 19th century character), I cannot fathom that our local officials cannot see the short and long-term price our charming village will pay for erecting such a structure. Greed can be the only motive here, and allowing such a project would only open the door to future devaluation of the gift that is Cold Spring.

Our riverfront is a safe haven, a last bastion of tranquility on this beautiful river. An 11unit condo is hardly worth the sacrifice ... or the unsettling precedent it would set.
