Dedication of Marker Commemorating Old Albany Post Road Planned

The Old Road Society of Philipstown is pleased to announce the dedication of a stone and bronze marker commemorating the historical importance of the Old Albany Post Road. This project was undertaken by the Old Road Society of Philipstown and was supported and funded by the Town of Philipstown, the Old Road Society of Philipstown, and the Putnam County Historical Advisory Council. The architectural bronze plaque was cast and installed by Tallix art foundry in Beacon. Stonework was performed by local stonemason John Benjamin, with assistance from the Philipstown Highway Department.

The dedication ceremony will take place on Monday, May 30, at 2pm sharp, at the intersection of Old Albany Post Road and Travis Corners Road in Philipstown.
