Afternoon Lecture hosted by the Friends of Boscobel
An all day seminar on Historic Houses of the Hudson will detail the Madame Brett House in Beacon, the Huguenot Homes of New Paltz, Quarters 100 at
West Point (home to all superintendents since Sylvanus Thayer) and Boscobel. Enjoy presentations on all four homes plus an overview of historic homes in the area
and be among the first to enjoy the new Exhibition Gallery at Boscobel. Included in admission is a choice of a box lunch containing roast turkey on Challah roll,
honey ham on Panini roll, eggplant on Tuscan baguette, chicken pear salad, or herbed tuna salad. A wine and cheese hour will follow the final presentation.

Annual Snapping Turtle Walk
Staff members of National Audubon Society's Constitution Marsh Sanctuary will provide an educational program on one of Boscobel's most fascinating
natural events. In early-to-mid June, female snapping turtles crawl up the steep bank from their habitat in Constitution Marsh to lay their eggs. The program will
feature live turtles from the marsh, after which staff members will lead a walk around the grounds in search of female turtles. This program is held rain or shine.

Horse & Carriage Day
Come to Boscobel and see first-hand the kinds of horse-drawn transportation that abounded in the early part of the nineteenth century. Members of the
Mid-Hudson Driving Association will be present to show off their horses and vehicles. There will be a narrated parade of the horse drawn vehicles beginning at 1:00 p.m., to
be followed by competitive events highlighting the skill of both horse and driver. There will also be horse-drawn wagon rides around the property from 12:00 noon

grounds are closed to the public during January, February and March.

Museum Shop
Boscobel’s shop
features a wide assortment of gifts and a fine selection of books on the
Hudson River Valley, history, gardening, architecture, and the decorative
arts.
Food Service and
Picnicking
Groups can arrange
for a box lunch served in the Carriage House Reception Center or on the
south terrace of the mansion. Individuals or groups bringing their own
picnic may use the tables in the designated picnic area near the pond.
Public restrooms and a soda machine are located at the Reception Center.
The Artist on
Tuesdays
On the second Tuesday
of each month Boscobel opens its grounds so that artists can paint or draw
undisturbed. Admission is free, but we ask that you call us and make
reservations in advance.

Friends of
Boscobel
The Friends of
Boscobel offers volunteer opportunities at Boscobel. Members receive free
admission to the mansion and grounds year round, a ten percent discount in
the museum shop, and Friends’ discounts on some special events including
selected performances of the Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival.
