The Hudson Highlands Photo Workshop was founded in 1983 by a group of six experienced photographers who originally met to discuss their black and white printing problems. The group adopted the name Hudson Highlands Photo Workshop and added color photography to the discussion. It now includes Hudson Valley photographers of various skill levels and interests who use a range of formats and a variety of printing techniques and methods.

The members of the Hudson Highlands Photo Workshop (HHPW) exemplify the diversity of the people of the Hudson Valley Region. Our members are of different lifestyles, professions and ages; some members have had formal photographic or arts training while others are self-taught. Our common ground is the love of photography.

The goal of the HHPW is to inspire its members to keep striving to improve their technique while gaining new perspective and fresh ideas. Monthly meetings are devoted to critiques or to workshops presented by members or guests; two or three times a year work is juried for exhibition. Field trips provide a casual environment for further learning. These activities make for a photographer friendly group gathered to achieve a common goal.

The meetings are open to all photographers and the organization welcomes guests and prospective members. To learn more about on this exciting group, go to www.HudsonHighlandsPhotoWorkshop.org.
