Thelma (Ford) Alderman

Thelma (Ford) Alderman, 86, died suddenly on September 10, 2014, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Newburgh.

Born on April 30, 1928, in Cold Spring to the late Louis and Alice M. (Coing) Ford. Thelma worked at the former J.L. Butterfield Memorial Hospital in maternity for more than 20 years; where she was present for multiple generations of births. She also worked in local doctor’s offices where she touched so many people’s lives. She was a founding member of Philipstown Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

She is survived by her daughter Cate Alderman- Trovato and her husband George of Dallas, PA, son LeRoy Alderman and wife Donna of Chugiak AK, daughter Heather Thompson of Wallkill, NY, and Sister Jane Tegeder of Ocala, FL. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Rustyn Birch of Portland, OR, Lael Alderman of Portland, OR, and Alisha Pogue of Portland, OR, and Declan Thompson of Wallkill, NY. Also her great-grandchildren, Azure and Maeby Alderman of Portland, OR, and Hazel Pogue of Portland, OR. She was predeceased by her beloved brother Robert Ford of Cold Spring.

Thelma was well loved by all who knew her and we are all the better for having her touch our lives.

A Memorial Service will take place at the Clinton Funeral Home, Corner of Parrott and Pine Sts. (21 Parrott St.) Cold Spring, NY 10516 at 7:30 PM, Wednesday, September 17. The Rev. Frank Geer will officiate. Friends may call at the Clinton Funeral Home prior to services, on Wednesday, September 17, from 5 to7:30 PM.

Donations may be made in Mrs. Alderman’s name to the American Heart Association or the Putnam County Humane Society.

Funeral arrangements are in the care of the Clinton Funeral Home, Cold Spring.
