Boscobel Restoration Route 9D just south of Cold Spring, this excellent example of Federal residential architecture is open to the public. Beautiful grounds and a spectacular view of the Hudson. Clarence Fahnestock State Park Located on Route 301 between Cold Spring and Carmel, this park offers swimming, hiking, cross country skiing, ice skating, fishing, boating and camping. The Appalachian Trail crosses through the park on its way north and south. Call (845) 225-7207

Chapel of Our Lady Restoration On the Cold Spring riverfront, left at the railroad bridge. First Catholic Church north of New York City.

"Cold Spring" Site Marker 1 Railroad Avenue, Cold Spring. On the grounds of the Depot Restaurant. Come to the site where George Washington is said to have given the village its name.

Constitution Marsh Wildlife Sanctuary Located just south of Cold Spring off of Route 9D. A visitor's center offers displays of wildlife in the Hudson Valley. Canoe tours of the sanctuary can be arranged by calling (845) 265-2601. The National Audubon Society operates this outstanding sanctuary.  For more local information click here. Davenport Cemetery behind Haldane School in the Village of Cold Spring. Historic Philipstown cemetery dating back to 1853. Includes grave sites of family names such as Davenport, Jaycox, Warren and many more. Burial place of George Pope Morris, author of "Woodman, Spare That Tree".

Davenport Cabin Marker Above the red light on Main Street, by the bench. Site of cabin of Cold Spring's first settler.

Foundry School Museum Located at 63 Chestnut Street in Cold Spring just south of Butterfield Pharmacy. Housed in a 140-year old schoolhouse used by the children of the Foundry workers. Changing exhibits of local historical memorabilia. Open Wednesdays, Thursdays & Sundays - call for hours. The museum is operated by the Putnam County Historical Society. Garrison Art Center Garrison's Landing, Garrison. The Center operates as a gallery and an educational center. The gallery offers a wide variety of media. Classes are offered in painting, sculpture, sketching and more. Call 424-3960 for more information.

Graymoor Located on Route 9, Garrison, home of the Atonement Friars, a Franciscan Community. Retreats, seminars, picnicing, etc. All faiths are welcome. (845) 424-3671  LINK TO WEB SITE

Little Stony Point Located on Rt. 9D just north of the Village of Cold Spring. Small sandy beach offers a quiet spot on the Hudson River with unparalleled views across and up and down the river channel. Accessible via a pedestrian bridge across the railroad tracks or via boat.

Manitoga/The Russel Wright Design Center. Located on Route 9D, Garrison, this outstanding 80 acre nature center has a trail system with self-guided tours through forests, meadows and waterfalls. The property is the former estate of Russel Wright. For programs and hours call (845) 424-3812 .

Taconic Outdoor Education Center Located on Route 301, Cold Spring between Route 9 and the Taconic. 265-3773.
