First-Ever Mountain Culture Festival Of Northeast Launched In Hunter
The Catskill Mountain Foundation, located in Hunter, N.Y., is launching the First annual Mountain Culture Festival on July 7, 8, and 9th. Inspired by other successful mountain festivals in Telluride, Colorado and Banff, Canada, the festival features films on mountain life, a folk-music festival, arts and crafts and animal husbandry exhibits, art shows, regional foods, and more. The festival is an weekend-long celebration of the uniqueness, beauty and fun of mountain living. Visitors can meet and pet a llama, listen to great music from the Catskill mountains, the wilds of the Andes and the mysterious Scottish highlands, watch films that document true life adventures, hair-raising sporting events that push human endurance to the limits, heart-warming stories about animals, and inspiring tales of personal integrity, shop for books on mountain regions and culture, buy fine crafts made by Catskill regional artisans, and enjoy the beauty of the high peak region of the Catskill Mountains that surround the festival in the town of Hunter, N. Y.
