Haldane Valedictorian And Salutatorian
The Haldane Valedictorian for the Class of 2000 is Kali Downer and the Salutatorian is Aaron Nastasi. Both girls have been leaders in numerous school and community activities as well as being outstanding academically. Kali expanded her horizons by being an AFS Exchange Student in Australia during her sophomore year. She earned many awards during her high school career including the R.P.I. Math and Science Award, The Xerox Humanities Award, The American Citizenship Award and The Alice Paulding Freshman Award. She was a county winner in the V.F.W. Cold Spring Board Of Trustees Sets New Main Street Display Rules
At their June 13 monthly meeting, the Cold Spring Board of Trustees made several changes and additions to the Village Code, including guidelines for the display of merchandise by merchants. Countryside Motel Owner Brings Lawsuit Against Town Over Certificate Of Occupancy Revocation Town Board indicates opposition to County Agricultural District
It was learned at the June 14 Philipstown Town Board meeting that Dahyabhai Patel, owner/operator of the Countryside Motel on Route 9, filed suit on May 23 in State Supreme Court against the Town of Philipstown and Code Administrator Tom Monroe, in an effort to regain the Certificate of Occupancy for his restaurant building. Mary Howell Celebrates Anniversary With Tompkins Corners UMC
Mary Howell began serving as Pastor for the Tompkins Corners United Methodist Church in Putnam Valley one year ago. It has been a year filled with change and surprises. For the church it is the first time in many years they have not shared their Pastor with another church. For Pastor Mary it is the first time she has served in a church as Pastor.
