More Effort Needed For Safety Of Haldane Children Hello,
It is Wednesday morning, March 7 at 9:05 right now, and I just returned from Haldane. I was somewhat disgusted by what I saw there this morning. The entire length of the sidewalk from Rt. 9D to the school (on Craigside Dr.) has not been shoveled or cleared of snow in any way. The sidewalk is buried under more than a foot of snow. There is school today, and many of the children in the village have to walk to school. These children had to walk in the road to get to the school. Many of them are elementary children, and some are quite young. At the same time these children are walking up the road there are cars traveling to and from the school on Craigside Drive to drop children off at school. I think that a little less effort should go into planning a new multi-million dollar school building project, and a Lot more effort should go into caring for the safety of the children that are attending the current school.
