The Putnam Valley community is invited to celebrate the opening of the New Putnam Valley High School this Saturday, April 21, 2001. The day will begin with a dedication ceremony beginning at 11am in the Performing Arts Center at the School of Peekskill Hollow Road. Haldane Board Reduces Cost Of New Elementary School By $1 Million Board plans to meet every week until the end of June
At the Haldane Board of Education workshop meeting on April 10, the board was presented with a new budget for the proposed new Elementary School. Mr. Kent Johnsson from the architectural firm EYP, supported by Mr. Giordano from the construction management firm JMOA, gave a presentation on the new school with some changes. The changes effectively reduced the cost to build a new elementary school to $12.5 million, which is less than the original estimated cost by over a million dollars. Renovation costs for the current school and the building site costs remained the same, reducing the overall project cost to $19,896,635. Full Story
Cold Spring Village Tax Rate To Hold Steady In ‘01-‘02

Roadside And Waterfront Cleanup April 28-29
The Town of Putnam Valley will be conducting a Town-Wide Roadside and Waterfront Clean Up on Saturday, April 28 and Sunday, April 29, 2001 for the removal of litter from Roadsides and Waterfronts ONLY! (There will be no household bulk pick-up!) Residents wishing to participate in this effort can pick up orange litter bags from, the Putnam Valley Town Hall and the Putnam Valley Library starting on Monday, April 23. Putnam Valley Hydro-Geological Study Nears Completion
HydroEnvironmental Solutions Inc., the engineering firm engaged by Putnam Valley Town Board to do a local aquifer study, presented their preliminary report at a special Town Board work session held Wednesday, April 11th at Town Hall. The completion of this report is critical to the future planning sessions of the: Town Board, Planning Board, Master Planning Committee, Zoning Board of Appeals, and most of the other committees in Town.
