Volunteers Honored During National Volunteer Week April 23
Volunteers are the backbone of Hudson Valley Hospital Center. Their help translated into 36,000 hours of work in 2000. They offer assistance in the hospitality shop, information desk, book cart, and many other areas of the hospital including filing in the emergency room, medical records, and greeters in the admitting department. The volunteers at HVHC range in age from teenagers to senior citizens all the way to age 90, men and women alike. "Our volunteers supplement the hospital staff and increase the effectiveness of many of the services we offer to patients, their families and the community", states Suzanne Scott, Director of Volunteers.
