9D Bridge In Cold Spring Limited To One Lane
Work on the Rt. 9D bridge leading out of the Village of Cold Spring became apparent last week as crews installed a traffic light to limit vehicle travel over the bridge to one lane at a time. The crews, which have already been onsite for the past month doing preliminary work, are cleaning the steel of the structure and will be installing a concrete drip edge to prevent run-off from dripping down onto the superstructure. Cheryl A. Basch To Become Garrison School’s New Principal
On Wednesday, June 29, the Board of Education for the Garrison Union Free School appointed a new principal: Cheryl A. Basch, of Pine Bush, New York. She will replace Mary F. Barresi, who cited "family reasons" for her recent resignation. A former resident of Garrison, Basch will begin her job, at a yearly salary of $85,000, on August 1, 2001. Full Story

At its annual reorganization meeting held Monday evening, July 9th, the Putnam Valley Board of Education, after swearing in the newly re-elected board members, took their first official action and re-elected Patrick Bellino president. He was elected without opposition. Full Story
