Agnes Vera Rathjen

Agnes Vera Rathjen, age 99 a life-long area resident died on Monday Aug. 6, 2001 at the Heritage Heights Nursing Home in Danbury, Ct. Born in Cold Spring on Sept. 9, 1901 she was the daughter of the late Willis and Clara (Scott) McKeel. She was the widow of the Late Theodore Rathjen who pre deceased her in 1952.

Mrs. Rathjen was a retired secretary for the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Montrose Campus. She was a Member of the United Methodist church of Cold Spring and the women’s group of the church. A 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Dutchess Chapter, and a descendent of Thomas Davenport the original settler of Cold Spring.

Survivors include one son Robert of Beacon, one daughter Isabel Smith of Manchester-By-The-Sea, MA. Seven grand Children Sixteen Great Grand Children also survive. A sister Linda Johnson predeceased her.

Services will take place at The Clinton Funeral Home Cor. Of Parrott & Pine Sts Cold Spring on Friday Aug. 10, 2001. Interment will follow in the family plot in Cold Spring cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Arrangements are under the direction of The Clinton Funeral Home Cold Spring, NY
