Agnes Stevenson Fisher

Agnes Stevenson Fisher, 91, of Whiting, NJ, wife of the late Bernard H. Fisher, died on Thursday August 23, 2001 after a long illness. Agnes was born in Brooklyn, NY in1909, daughter of the late George W. Stevenson and Jane E. (Berrigan) Stevenson. During her life she was a dedicated professional who served in many areas that ranged from home front nursing activities during World War II, to being a representative of a major life insurance company in New York City. Agnes held long time residencies in New York City, Cold Spring, NY, and Whiting, NJ. In 1972 Agnes moved to Whiting, NJ, where she became an active participant in many local activities and clubs, and enjoyed extensive travel with her late husband Ben. Agnes was a founding member of the St. Elizabeth Seton Roman Catholic Church in Whiting, NJ.

Agnes was pre-deceased by her late husband Ben, her sisters; Grace and Ruth, as well as her brothers Donald, Kenneth and Malcolm. In addition she has a surviving sister, Lenore S. Curnyn of Forked River, NJ. Agnes is also survived by several nieces and nephews including; Kenneth G. Stevenson Jr., Jane L. Lucas, James M. Stevenson, George E. Stevenson, Diane M. Nobile and Christine M. Donnovan.

A funeral mass of Christian Burial was conducted at Saint Elizabeth Seton Church, Whiting, NJ, on Saturday, August 25, 2001. This celebration of her life was followed by an internment ceremony at the Whiting Memorial Park.
