Watershed Restrictions Following Terrorist Attacks Watershed Agreement due for 5-year review
There will be no hiking, fishing, hunting or recreation of any kind on any of the lands comprising the New York City Watershed for the foreseeable future. These restrictions were announced at the October 2 County Legislature meeting by William Harding, Executive Director of the Watershed Protective Partnership Council (WPPC). This course of action was taken as a result of the terrorist attack on September 11, and the ensuing concern that New York City drinking water could be the target of additional terrorist attacks. Haldane Harriers Continue To Roll
On September 29 the Varsity Girls Cross Country team traveled to Bowdoin Park to compete in the Arlington Invitational. The team finished in the middle of the pack getting beaten only by much larger schools. Jen Neville again led the way with Miranda Neri, Margie Tomann, Tori Moss, and Carly Filmanski rounding out the scoring. The Haldane Varsity Football team took on Gould last Saturday on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. After losing to a tough one to Bronxville 25-13 the week before, the Devils were determined to give their fans a victory and break into the win column. Mission accomplished. Full Story
