Poughkeepsie Day School Receives E.E. Ford Grant
The Edward E. Ford Foundation has awarded Poughkeepsie Day School a $50,000 matching grant to help build its endowed Faculty Development Fund. To qualify for the grant, the Town of Poughkeepsie school had to raise $150,000 in a three-to-one dollar match, specifically targeted for that fund and within one year of receiving the challenge. As a result of meeting this challenge, Poughkeepsie Day School has added $200,000 to the fund, which was established in 1999 as one of three endowed funds within in its capital fund drive, The Campaign for Poughkeepsie Day. To date, the Faculty Development Fund stands at $495,000, with $2 million as its goal; the total raised toward the $5 million Campaign is $2.1 million.
