Halloween Parade Again Breaks Records
Through cold, wind and.... the community rallys for the Costume Halloween parade. Each year the numbers attending has grown and this year, the eighth parade, sponsored by The Guide and Staley/Gretzinger, broke last year's good-weather record - 720 Treat bags handed out which would indicate a crowd of almost 2,000 children, adults and dogs. The behind-the-scenes volunteers who fill and hand out treat bags and blow up balloons, organized by Marilyn Heberling, were Marissa Burke, Nicole Giachinta, Suzanne Giachinta, David Heberling, Kurt Lauer, Ashley Murphy, Kathy Murphy and Donna Pidala. Scott Webster again provided his delightful record collection of "Oldies" at the bandstand to keep the crowd dancing to keep warm.
