Holiday Wreaths Donated To Hospital By Children
A group of children from the Crompond Elementary School in Yorktown brought hand-made holiday wreaths to Hudson Valley Hospital Center and placed one outside each room on the third floor. "The children decorated each wreath and had the opportunity to actually hang the wreaths and experience how much the staff and patients liked their work," states Joan Shiland, one of the moderators of C.I.D.S.C.A.R.E., which stands for Crompond Individuals Do Service for Community Action and Respecting the Environment. The same group had decorated Thanksgiving wreaths and donated them to the Hospital. They are also decorating the emergency services waiting room on December 10.
