Malcolm Stevenson

Malcolm Stevenson, age 89, of Cold Spring, NY died on Friday, March 30, 2001 at Hudson Valley Hospital Center Cortlandt Manor, NY.

Born in Brooklyn, NY on August 30, 1911, he was the son of the late George W. and Jane E. (Berrigan) Stevenson.

Mr. Stevenson was a retired self-employed house painter as well as a licensed real estate broker in the Cold Spring area for many years. He had come to Cold Spring in 1916 from Brooklyn. He was a U. S. Army Air Corp. Veteran from 1942-45 with the rank of Staff Sgt.; a Village of Cold Spring Registrar of Vital Statistics from 1980-92; a member of the Philipstown Democratic Club; a Parishioner of Our Lady of Loretto Church; and a former member of the Knights of Columbus in Cold Spring.

He was predeceased by his wife, Dorthea M. (Henyan) Stevenson, who died in 1980. He is survived by two sons, James M. Stevenson of Mclean, Virginia and George E Stevenson of Cold Spring, NY; two daughters, Diane M. Nobile of Ft. Montgomery, NY and Christine M. Donovan of Cold Spring, NY; two sisters, Agnes Fisher of Whiting, NJ and Lenore Curnyn of Whiting, NJ; and nine grandchildren. Mr. Stevenson was predeceased by one brother, Kenneth Steven-son and one sister, Ruth Stevenson.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at Our Lady of Loretto Church in Cold Spring, NY on Tuesday April 3, 2001. Interment followed in Cold Spring Cemetery.
