Senior Transportation Program For Medical Needs Begun In County
The Friends of the Senior Citizens of Putnam County, Inc. have announced a new medical transportation service for Putnam County Seniors.
Partnering with the United Way of Westchester & Putnam, the Friends of Senior Citizens of Putnam County, Inc., and the County Office for the Aging, transportation will now be available to out-of-county medical facilities. This service will enable transportation-disadvantaged seniors to be transported to specialized medical services outside of Putnam at a reasonable cost. Seniors will be given the opportunity to make confidential voluntary contributions for the service.
The Putnam County Office for the Aging has been trying to address this need for many years, and through this partnering effort, seniors can now get the health care they need to help them maintain their self-sufficiency and continue to live independently within their communities.
