Heroes On The Home Front Dear Editor:
As a boy scout in Brooklyn, NY during WWII, I remember collecting scrap paper, iron and fat to support the war effort against the Axis powers. My father and many other adults gave blood to help the wounded. I guess all of us could have been considered heroes; but we all felt we had to do whatever we could to protect our country and Democracy from tyrants and evil men.
