Funding Granted For Local Health Care Institutions Local Hospitals to receive over $1million each under plan
Governor Pataki announced on January 31st that more than $153 million in new health care funds will be awarded to the Hudson Valley region. The money will be used to help local hospitals and nursing homes provide quality care, and to recruit and retain a highly trained workforce. The funding will be provided over the next three years under the historic Health Care Workforce Recruitment and Retention Act that was signed into law by the Governor in January. Locally, Putnam Hospital Center will receive $1,986,000, Hudson Valley Hospital will receive $1,093,254, and Vassar Brothers Hospital will receive $1,986,000 as part of the new health care funding.
