Legislator Tamagna Supports Regional Freedom Gardens
Americans are searching for ways to express their sorrow about the tragic events of September 11th and to demonstrate their national unity. "Gardening has became the number one hobby and pastime for Americans" said Vinny Tamagna, Putnam County Legislator and President of the Lower Hudson-Long Island Resource Conservation & Development (RC&D) area. "With nearly 80% of the population participating in some type of horticultural activity, planting Freedom Gardens across the Country can be a healing experience for communities. These gardens will be a living memorial honoring all the heroes and victims of the World Trade Center, Pentagon and related tragedies as well as a tribute and thank-you to all who continue to defend our freedom."
