Evelyn Marie Logan
Evelyn Marie Logan, Nee Roach, died February 17, 2002, in Utica, NY. Mrs. Logan was born in Cold Spring on January 29, 1906, the daughter of William V. and Marie Orthmann Roach. Her sister, Eleanor Marie Roach and her brother, William J. Roach, predeceased her.
Mrs. Logan was educated in the secretarial field and worked for a number of years with a New York City based firm. In the late 1940’s she opened her own gift shop, The Garden Studio, which she managed for nearly forty years. Her shop was widely known for the uniqueness and quality of her gift selections.
Mrs. Logan was a member of The Cold Spring United Methodist Church, The Order of the Eastern Star and The Highland Garden Club. Her interests were gardening and travel as well as her "shop."
A devoted wife and mother, she was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Wood Logan, and her daughter, Jacqueline Logan Ogley. She is survived by her sons, Roderic K. Logan of Utica, NY and Douglas W. Logan of Cold Spring, NY. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, one niece and one nephew.
A private burial service was held on Wednesday, February 20th at the family plot in the Cold Spring Cemetery.
