Radio Personality Skywalker To Give Prizes During BOCES Open House

Every year the Tech Center at Yorktown holds an open house celebration to give high school students and their parents the opportunity to explore the variety of career preparation courses available. This year’s event, scheduled for Tuesday, March 5th from 7 to 9pm, enables guests to meet teachers from the 29 different disciplines.

At the open house, guests can also talk with students, see displays, demonstrations and presentations, take a tour of the state-of-the-art facility and sample student-made refreshments. Radio personality Skywalker from K104 FM will be at Tech South giving out CDs, t-shirts, and more with every spin of the prize wheel.

High school juniors can choose a one-year program, while a two-year program is available to sophomores. In addition, Tech Center students can now qualify for a Regents diploma as part of their technical training and some courses enable students to earn college credit.

Career preparation courses are available in the following disciplines: arts and humanities, business information systems, engineering technologies, health services, human and public services, and natural or agricultural sciences.

The Tech Center is located on the campus of Putnam/Northern Westchester Board of Cooperative Educational Services, at 200 BOCES drive, off Pines Bridge Road or Veterans Road in Yorktown Heights. The snow date is March 12. For more information, call (914) 248-2420.
