Preparing For The Unexpected
"Preparing for the Unexpected" is the topic of a program sponsored by the Putnam Community Service Network that will teach the skills needed to prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies. Olivier Szlos, Director of the American Red Cross, Putnam County Chapter, will be the guest speaker at this free Monday, March 18th program, at Guideposts in Carmel from 3 to 5pm. It will focus on the ability of families, organizations, businesses and communities to handle any type of disaster. Topics that will be discussed include how to create a personal disaster plan, how to assemble a disaster supplies kit and knowing the disaster plan of your workplace. Basic first aid and what to do if a disaster strikes will also be covered.
