Comprehensive Plan Special Board Seeks Increased Communication With Philipstown Town Board Recreation survey responses coming in
On Tuesday, April 9, the Comprehensive Plan Special Board met at the North Highland Fire House. Members expressed their need to increase communication with the Philipstown Town Board, stating their frustration with "the fast-tracking of the proposed zoning changes for Routes 9 and 9D" (see related PCN&R article). A suggestion was made that the zoning issue be placed on hold until the Special Board has all their data collected, and their formal recommendations made in the form of a Comprehensive Plan to the Town Board. First Lady Takes Test Drive With Kayak
NY's First Lady, Libby Pataki was out on the Hudson River on Monday trying out a kayak she is considering purchasing from the Hudson Valley Outfitters in Cold Spring. Mat Frohman from the outfitters accompanied Mrs. Pataki, who was trying out a small, 2-person kayak with the hope of luring her pet dog onto the water with her. Her pet declined the invitation, choosing instead to cool himself off from the current heat wave in the water. Full Story

Water Restrictions Lifted In Cold Spring Water District Hydrant flush planned for April 21-26
The Cold Spring Village Water Department has announced that restrictions on the outdoor use of water have been lifted, effective immediately according to a statement made by Mayor Anthony Phillips. Previously, outdoor use was allowed only on Saturdays & Sundays between 7 am & 7 pm. Full Story

"Cabaret" Comes To Putnam Valley Elementary
The Putnam Valley Middle School is presenting a "dessert theater" featuring student singing, dancing and dramatic acts at the Putnam Valley Middle School on Friday, April 26th. The public may choose between two seatings: 6pm to 7:15pm or 8pm to 9:15pm. During the performances, dessert and coffee will be served. Full Story
