Campout Caps Another Great Year For The Cub Scouts
Soggy weather failed to dampen the spirits of the boys of Pack 137 participating in our year-end campout on June 15th. The event was held at scenic Lake Frederick on the grounds of West Point. Kickball, fishing, and wiffleball were just a few of the fun activities that made the experience memorable for all. Scoutmaster Hugh Moss and Assistant Scoutmaster Lisa Kinnaird prepared a delicious meal over an open campfire. Mr. Moss and Chris Brennan, older brother of Cub Scout Conner Brennan, helped set the mood by reading spooky ghost stories around the roaring fire after dark. The atmosphere was further enhanced when a short break in the clouds provided the opportunity for Bill Kearns to lead us in a group howl at the moon. A-a-r-o-o-o-h! Fortunately, the heavy rain and winds held off until we were all securely in our tents for a relatively dry night.
