Dorothy Hale, 81 of Cold Spring died Sunday, September 8, 2002 at Skyview Nursing Home in Croton-on-Hudson, NY.
A homemaker, Mrs. Hale was a past member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Butterfield Hospital, where she donated many crocheted handy works for the Hospital fundraising benefits.
She was a lover of music, and was the first girl to play in the Bayshore High School Band in Long Island.
Born in Brooklyn, NY on March 10, 1921, she was the daughter of Charles C. and Elaine McLaughlin Martens.
Her husband, Edward Halkovtis, predeceased her in 1955.
Survivors include three daughters, Karin Amato of Cold Spring, Pat Morgan and husband Ronald of Glenham and Susan Revdal of Brewster, four sons Russell Hale of Tarrytown, Gerald Hale and wife Valerie of Millwood, NY, Robert Hale and wife Mary of Beacon, NY and Joseph Hale of White Plains; 15 grandchildren, and 11 great-grand children.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Claudia, in 1944 and by a brother, Charles Martens.
Calling hours were Monday, September 9th at the Robert H. Auchmoody Funeral Homes, Inc., Fishkill, NY.
Graveside services were held on Tuesday, September 10th, at 10am. Burial at the Ferris Family plot in the Cold Spring Cemetary.
