Charles E. Hustis, Sr.

Charles E. Hustis, Sr., age 74, a life-long area resident died on Thursday January 23, 2003 at St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie. Born in Fishkill, NY on December 20, 1927 he was the son of the Late Edgar and Ethel (Boris) Hustis. He was a retired laborer with Laborers Union Local # 235 in Elmsford.

Mr. Hustis served in the Merchant Marines and the U.S. Navy. During the Korean Conflict he served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Where he was awarded the Purple Heart for wound received in action, and he was a member of the James Harvey Hustis Post #2362 V.F.W. Cold Spring.

Survivor include 3 sons Charles E. Hustis, Jr. of Cold Spring, Michael E. Hustis of Marshfield MO, and Mark E. Hustis of Southington, CT. Two Daughters Carol L. Hustis of Bethel CT. and Michelle M. Greene of Danbury CT. One brother Donald Hustis of NJ, One sister Betty Ann Mosciello of VA. Four Grandchildren also survive. One daughter Melanie Hustis and one brother Warren Hustis pre-deceased him.

Graveside services with military honors were held on Monday January 27, 2003 at the Cold Spring Cemetery.
