Philip G. Saweikis

Philip G. Saweikis, age 49, of Cold Spring died at Westchester Medical Center on Friday, February 14, 2003 after a long illness. Born on September 16, 1953 in Ashland, PA, he was the son of the late Anthony J. and Anna (Marcavage) Saweikis. Mr. Saweikis was a graduate of Arch Bishop Molloy High School in Queens and he received his B.S. in Geology and Biology from Queens College. He was a computer Technician for U.D.V North America in Stamford, CT. An 18-year area resident, he was a parishioner of Our Lady of Loretto Church, a member of the Nelsonville Fish and Fur Club, the Nelsonville Fire Co., and the Football Association of Haldane High School. Survivors include his wife Patricia E. (Waters) Saweikis of the home address; two sons, Jonathan and Andrew at home; one brother, John A. Saweikis of Camp Hill, PA; and two sisters, Ann J. Saweikis Sheperd of Beverly Hills, FL and Anita L. McIntyre of Mt. Carmel, PA. Many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive him.

A mass of Christian burial was offered at Our Lady of Loretto Church on Tuesday February 18, 2003. The Rev. Brian McSweeny officiated. Private cremation will take place in Ferncliff Crematory Hartsdale; arrangements are under the direction of The Clinton Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mr. Saweikis’s memory may be made to the Philipstown V.A.C. or the Haldane Football Alumni.
